Speakers Forum
The Rising Leaders Speakers Forum is an event designed for both current & past students of the Rising Leaders program. It offers a unique platform for students to present speeches on assigned topics, showcasing their public speaking skills and growing through additional and wider exposure.

When: Saturday, Nov 09, 2024
Time: 1:30 - 4:30 PM. A detailed schedule will follow soon

Prepared speech theme
Group 1 (graded 4 to 5). Speech topics will be shared by mid October.
Group 2 (grades 6 to 10): Speech topics will be shared by mid October.
Eligibility requirements:
Current or past Rising Leaders program participant only.
Students must check-in on time to participate and stay throughout the completion of the program for their group.
Registration fee:
$45 per student
Fill out one form per child. Participation in this program is not confirmed until the registration fee is received.

Rules
Participants must attend the briefing at their designated date and time. Detailed schedule to be provided by mid-Feb.
Timers will use green, yellow, and red cards to help keep track of timing during speeches.
There will be two groups. Students and families must remain for the full duration of their groups speeches. Group assignments will be provided closer to the day of the Forum.
All participants will receive a certificate of participation.
Questions & Answers
Q: Is this a contest?
A: No, it's an opportunity to enhance public speaking skills for students and allows parents to see their kids perform. There will be certificates for students participating in the Forum.
Q: My child is on a waitlist for Rising Leaders classes, can he/she participate in Speakers Forum.
A: The Speaker Forum is for current or past Rising Leaders students only.
Q: What if I'm late to the venue?
A: Arrival on time is crucial for check-in. The venue at Davis Library is booked for a set time. If you are not on time, you will not be able to participate.
Q: Can I leave after my speech?
A: Staying for all speeches is recommended. Your presence supports others and is valued. Certificates are handed out at the end.
Q: Will there be more such forums in the future?
A: Yes, we plan several forums a year. We host these events periodically (hopefully quarterly) for new and future students.
Q: Can I take photos and videos?
A: Yes, you can record your child. No photos or videos of other students are allowed for privacy reasons.
Q: Can I cancel my registration?
A: No. Please keep logistics and date in mind before committing.
